Calendar of Events

The Turks & Caicos Islands have a number of holidays and celebrate a number of festivals. On many weekends, during the spring and summer months, a festival or regatta of some sort is celebrated. With a few exceptions, each of the inhabited Islands have their own day of celebrations. The regattas began as boat races in the late 19th century. These regattas have now grown into festivals and carnivals lasting an entire weekend or even a week. The festivals are a time of merry making, filled with dancing, activities, music, food and refreshments. In addition to the regattas, there are 13 National Holidays observed in the Turks and Caicos Islands. On these days all government offices, banks, and most businesses are closed.
