Accommodations

The Turks and Caicos Islands has accommodations that will meet the needs of most travelers. If you are looking for five star accommodations  "The Turks and Caicos Islands" is almost synonymous with upscale luxury and chic, and there are many options to choose from that satisfy a range of tastes that fit that billing. Within that class, if you wish to be pampered consider one of our numerous resorts with an on site spa, In-Room Dining, personalized menus, tailored yoga programs, fitness centres, multiple pools, water sports, business services, and other amenities. We also have resorts that cater to families with a rich assortment of planned activities and toys for children and with services for parents who want to get away from it all.

For those who prefer a more holistic experience we have upscale resorts that offer seclusion and solitude, but also with the full range of luxury amenities. We also have resorts that offer an array of sporting related facilities and packages for vacationers that prefer an adrenalin-filled experience. If all of that is too much and you would simply prefer something that is comfortable and clean but more modestly priced we have a few of those as well, properties that are close to the beach but that are more affordable than beach front accommodations, but nothing is really cheap here.

In the summer prices range from approximately $110.00 a night, at the low end of the market, to $820.00 a night, at the high end of the market, for a junior suite, which will accommodate up to two guests. In the winter the same room rents for $185.00 a night, at the low end of the market, to $1,520.00 a night, at the high end of the market, for the same junior suite that accommodates two.

At the top of the market are four and five bedroom Penthouses that rent for as much as $10,000.00 a day and eleven bedroom villas that are hired out at the $36,300.00 a day range. This destination is not cheap, but if you are a discerning vacationer, discriminating business traveler, or even a value conscious visitor with a bit of effort you can find something that will meet your needs. The guides and the user reviews on this site will help you make an informed decision.

Accommodations on these Islands fit very broadly into four meaningful categories, although there are several other useful ways of comparing and assessing local properties. The first category is the "All Inclusive Resort". This property type provide accommodation, food, entertainment, and activities on the same site and all for one price. There are three resorts on Island that fit into that category and, while each have its own niche, within those resorts you will find virtually everything you need for an enjoyable vacation for the type of tourist each resort caters to.

The second and by far the most numerous class of accommodation are All-Suite Resorts. These properties offer all-suite accommodation ranging in size from 800 square feet to 7,000 square feet and they include gourmet kitchens, laundry facilities, living rooms, and balconies. They are condominium homes, woven together with common resources and services, into a resort. In most cases these resorts offer an array of common guest amenities that include tennis courts, pools, spas, gift shops, gyms, on site restaurants, and water sports.

The next category are Villas and Cottages, which have fewer guest amenities and services than All-Suite Resorts, but many are just as luxurious. They cater to vacationers that place a premium on privacy and solitude.

The final category is the Hotel, which is what most North Americans and Europeans think of when they consider vacation accommodation. These properties offer guests a bed and washroom and most have a common pool. Room sizes are generally under 300 square feet.

Most things, of course, seldom fit neatly into categories and indeed most All-Suite Resorts offer "lockoffs", commonly labeled junior suites, that resemble hotel rooms in size and price. Some All-Suite Resorts also offer the option to purchase a meal plan when you book your accommodation, appealing to whatever quality it is that attract guests to All Inclusive resorts. Some of the larger villas, on the other hand, have as many as eleven bedrooms and come with staff, vehicles, beach and water sports toys, and many resemble and rival small resorts.

There is yet one more meaningful classification, outside of the four above, and it is that of the Island Resort, or Cays as we call them locally, which offers guests private seclusion, and there are two such retreats. Accommodation on these cays are normally through a resort manager, in a hotel room owned by the resort company, or in a villa that is likely privately owned, but it is usually management by a management company, resulting in each villa being differently furnished with a unique feel. The first option is Parrot Cay, which is organized by a resort manager and which is focused on providing visitors a sanctuary. This exclusive island haven features a holistic spa, two restaurants, juice and salad bar, tennis courts, swimming pool, fitness centre, and scuba diving and fishing. The second of the two, the Meridian Club, is an environmentally sensitive hideaway located on the private island of Pine Cay. This barefoot retreat offers a getaway for busy people. Telephones, automobiles and televisions are not allowed. Here you can spend your days sailing, windsurfing, snorkeling, fishing, playing tennis, bicycling, swimming or doing nothing at all.

Most hotels and resorts also offer the business traveler all the conveniences that make for a productive trip, including business centers with computers, ipads, wifi services, and some even offer conference facilities to cater to groups. If you want to visit the Islands on business you will find state-of-the art communications, fine dining, and a large number of professionals in the Turks & Caicos Islands. We, however, suspect that you will find time for both work and play.

For the avid diver or golfer, sporting packages are offered by a number of resorts and hotels. Whether you desire comfortable, affordable accommodations with a focus on value or luxury resorts where you will be pampered, a package that suits your needs should be readily available. Search the property's details on this site to obtain current information on the variety of packages available from the different properties.

Regardless of where you choose to stay, you will most likely want to hire (rent) a vehicle for at least part of your vacation to obtain supplies, shop and to sight see.

You will find general information on the accommodations currently available in the Turks and Caicos Islands on this site. The majority of resorts, hotels and rental properties have web sites with current photographs, amenities, availability, price schedules, etc. Most accommodation can be booked directly online, or through traditional methods of booking via telephone or facsimile. Before booking a vacation it is a good idea to see what the different properties have to offer and this site allows you to easily do that with tools that make it easy to display side by side comparisons.

When you are undertaking your search it will be helpful to have an idea of what your priorities are for your vacation: which Island and area do you prefer; do you need something that is beachfront, oceanfront, ocean view, or something that is close to the beach and more affordable; do you prefer a private, self-contained villa or condominium or a hotel room or suite; do you want to include sporting packages (eg. diving or golf); do you plan to rent a vehicle during your vacation; do you need to be in walking distance of restaurants and shopping facilities; will your vacation be family-centred or couples/singles oriented, etc. The answers to these questions will help you get started and will assist in selecting a property that meets your needs and the information and resources on this site should help you answer most of these questions.
